About the Talk:
The Dominican Republic is one of the largest producers of organic cacao in the world, and its bean-to-bar scene is thriving. From vibrant, fruit-forward single origins to rich, smooth blends, Dominican cacao carries a signature character that chocolate lovers adore. In this guided tasting, we'll sample a curated selection of craft bars from the region, explore the makers behind each one, and dig into what makes DR cacao so distinctive.
What to Expect:
A relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, a guided tasting of thoughtfully selected bars, and the fascinating stories behind each one. You'll learn how to taste like a pro, understand what "single origin" really means, and leave with a whole new appreciation for the world of craft chocolate. No experience necessary — just bring your curiosity and your taste buds!

Join us at Yahara Chocolate & Tea for a hands-on, two-part class where you'll build and glaze your very own pottery gnome — a whimsical little friend that's 100% one of a kind, just like you.
Picture it: a charming handcrafted gnome perched on your bookshelf, tucked among your houseplants, or standing guard over your garden — and YOU made the whole thing. ✨
How It Works:
This is a two-part class designed to give you the full pottery experience, from hand-shaping your gnome to bringing it to life with color.
🛠 Building Day — Saturday, July 25 | 9:30am – 2pm | $15
You'll hand-build your gnome from scratch using clay, tools, and instruction provided. No experience required — our instructor will walk you through every step, from forming the body to crafting those signature pointy hats and charming little faces.
🎨 Glazing Day — Saturday, August 1 | 10am – 2pm | $15
Come back the following Friday to paint and glaze your piece yourself — it's the BEST part! Add your personal touch and watch your gnome's personality really shine. (Prefer a hands-off finish? We're happy to glaze your piece for you — just let us know!)
